Meet my friends Nathan and Tessa. I met these two great people through our Lifehouse from church. They recently had a newborn baby named Daxton. We attempted to do a family shoot last week. Daxton did pretty good for the first 20 minutes or so. I think he started getting tired of everyone trying to stuff him into things when all he wanted to do was eat, so we had to end the session earlier than we wanted. All in all though, the shoot went good and I think we got some great shots. Here are just a few of my favorites from the shoot.
I recently shot this wedding at Spirit Ranch, in Lubbock. It was a beautiful venue and my first time to shoot a wedding there, but hopefully not my last. I was asked to shoot the wedding by the brides mother, who knew my work from shooting dirt bike racing at our local track. The bride and groom met at a race track and it’s still a huge part of their lives. That is why I asked him to bring his bike to the wedding so that I could incorporate it into the pictures because it played a big part in them. I think the pics turned out great.
Meet Presha, a high school senior from Hobbs New Mexico. She contacted me because she didn’t want her senior photos taken from any photographers in the Hobbs area because, according to her, all their pictures look the same and are all indoors at a studio. So, she asked me to take her senior pictures and make them not look traditional. So we set out and spent about three and a half hours shooting and we think the pictures came out great. Take a look at a few of my favorites.

Family Photos
Well, I have been wanting to do a family photo shoot for some time now. When I found out my in-laws were coming, I thought it would be a great time to do it. I have been toying with the idea of using our couch as a prop in this photo, so I went for it. I think it works “as out of place as it looks,” it works. I need to buy a remote for my camera, as I got quite a workout that night setting up the camera and pushing the shutter button and running to get in place within 10 seconds! Anyway, the pics turned out well and we’ve got a few great family photos now for our walls.
Wedding pics are up!
Blog 2 of 2 from Matt & Erin’s Wedding Day
Meet Erin and Matt. Over four years ago my wife and I ran an ad in the paper looking for a babysitter. We interviewed about 4 girls then we interviewed Erin and there was no doubt after that interview that we found our girl. She was perfect! She was a very strong Christian, from a good family, had been babysitting for years, and going to college to become an elementary teacher!! We could not have come up with a better description of a babysitter.
Anyway, Erin has been dating Matt since high school and about a year ago her proposed. When she asked if I would be her photographer, I didn’t hesitate. I’ve been chomping at the bit just waiting for the wedding day to get here because I knew it was going to be something special. With help from my wife who took over managing the time line of the day, we were able to pull of an entire day of planned events starting at 7:45 AM and ending at 10:50 in the evening, without missing a beat. Yes that’s right, nothing went wrong all day!
I’ve got about 600 good pictures from the entire day and I’ve gone through and picked out a few to post on my blog to tell a story of the day. I can only post 10 pictures in one blog, so I have to break it into two different blog posts. I want to thank Sara Bradshaw for being a great 2nd camera for me. Take a few minutes to look at the pictures and let them tell you the story of the day.

Meet Keelee along with her parents Chris and Kristina. Keelee’s aunt Maranda, won a silent auction at the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life this year where I had donated a sitting fee for the winner of the auction.
Keelee has never had professional pictures taken, but she did great for a 1.5 year old. She hardly ever fussed and was a joy to work with. We met bright and early Sunday morning at 8 AM so we could get the sun while it was low and while the temperatures were decent. Enjoy these pics of this cute little girl and her parents and be on the lookout in about a year to see Keelee again in her aunt Maranda’s wedding pictures that I’ll probably be shooting.
Meet Bryce, a graduating senior from Lubbock High. Bryce is a ROTC officer, as well as a gymnast! Unfortunately, the day we shot his session, the gym was closed. So, we didn’t get any photos of him doing gymnastics. Bryce was very proud of the heritage of Lubbock High and knew many stories that had been passed on through the years about the school. Congratulations Bryce and thanks for choosing Russ Erbe Photography for you senior portraits.
